Groundnut In calcareous soils, apply 50 kg Ferrous sulphate per ha as
basal dose or three foliar sprays of 1% FeSO 4.
or
Apply 575 kg of Ferro-gypsum per ha as basal application.
Soybean In calcareous upland soils, 2-3 times foliar spray of 2%
ferrous sulphate+0.1% citric acid is recommended.
In soybean grown in medium black and black-red mixed
soils, apply 40 kg Ferrous sulphate per ha as basal dose OR
two foliar sprays of 1-2% FeSO 4.
Soybean-Wheat In medium black soils, apply 50 kg Ferrous sulphate per ha
as basal dose and foliar sprays of 1-2% FeSO 4.
Rice Yellowing of rice leaves due to iron deficiency can be
effectively controlled by 3 foliar applications of 1.0% FeSO 4
at weekly interval. It should be followed after irrigation.
Green manuring with dhaincha is also recommended to
amend iron deficiency in rice.
Rice nursery Once yellowing of seedlings or necrosis of leaf tips are
noticed in rice nursery, 2-3 foliar applications of 1.0% FeSO 4
at weekly interval can be done to supplement the iron
deficiency.
Bengal gram In medium black and black-red mixed soils, apply 50 kg
Ferrous sulphate per ha as basal dose and give two foliar
sprays of 1-2% FeSO 4.
Pigeonpea In light textured soils, provide foliar spray of 0.5% FeSO 4at
60, 90 and 120 days after sowing.
Mustard In light textured soils, apply 15 kg FeSO 4 per ha at the time
of sowing, followed by two foliar sprays of 1% FeSO 4.
Sesame In medium black calcareous soils, apply 40 kg Ferrous
sulphate per ha as basal dose.
Jowar In black and red loamy soils, apply 25-50 kg Ferrous
sulphate per ha as basal dose in alternate year.
Bhindi In light textured soils, apply foliar spray of 0.5% FeSO 4at 15,
30, 45 and 60 days after sowing.
Potato Apply foliar spray of 0.5% FeSO 4at 40, 50 and 60 days after
sowing in light textured soils.
Tomato In light sandy soils, foliar spray of 0.5-1.0% FeSO 4at 30, 50
and 70 days after transplanting is recommended.
Sugarcane Foliar spray of 5.0 gram FeSO4 + 2-3-gram citric acid per
liter water can be made for 2-3 times during early growth
stage of sugarcane.
or
Apply 50 kg Ferrous sulphate per ha as basal dose.
In sugarcane grown on silty loam soils, apply 100 kg Ferrous
sulphate per ha as basal dose. This is sufficient for main as
well as ratoon crops.
